Blogger Brilliance: This Is Her Movement

When I ultimately decided to create a blog, I did my best to research my initial steps and of course branding. I really didn’t know what branding was or its importance. I came across This Is Her Movement blog last year. I have copious notations in relation to creating, launching, branding and maintaining my blog which is I still use to this day. Kyshira M. Moffett is creative mind behind This Is Her Movement. Her signature pink wardrobe, bubbly and friendly personality and business knowledge will entice you. I would definitely encourage you to follow her on Periscope and Snap Chat. Luckily Kyshira is also a fellow Black Bloggers United member and she graciously accepted my invitation to be featured for this months Blogger Brilliance! Kyshira’s favorite blog post (and mine) is 7 Secrets to Successfully Rebranding Your Business. This post is very important to Kyshira because too many times creatives spend large amounts of money to re-brand when that’s not always needed. Changing direction is more about strategy and content than it is logos and pretty websites. (**the tea!)

Blogger Brilliance Feature: The Butler Journal

Hey Curvy Cuties! Its time for another Blogger Brilliance Feature! This months blog is one of my personal favorites. As an accountant, I often visit finance based blogs. I first encountered Jason Butler in one of my blogging groups and I quickly became a fan. His blog called The Butler Journal is quite inspiring when it comes to finance and giving helpful tips on how to pay down and eventually eliminate debt by “side hustling.” I approached Jason about being featured on on my blog and he graciously accepted. I encourage you to read How I Made Over $11,000 Side Hustling in 2016.Jason specifically chose this post because hard work pays off. He started side hustling a couple of years ago to help pay off my debt. Like everyone else he had encountered a lot of ups and downs, but 2016 showed him that through perseverance you can achieve anything!

Years ago, I worked customer service for a fairly well known beauty and hair brand. When I think about my experience working there, I always recollect the countless conversations I had with other naturalistas. The biggest concern I heard can be summed up with a simple question.

Where do I start? It’s not uncommon to want hair that is shining, healthy and Instagram-ready. Most naturals would readily admit to this desire. And the women I communicated with, via telephone and email, expressed this desire immensely. And I would tell them the same thing I am about to tell you now.
