My Relaxing Sunday Evening Routine

October 26, 2016

evening-routine

Sundays are one of the most difficult days for me. Why you ask? Simply because it is the day before Monday. Weekends go by so quickly, however I think it is important to take time out for myself. I have a regular Sunday evening routine, which helps me prepare for the week ahead. I start my routine two hours before bedtime which is usually around 8pm.

Warm Bath or Shower

I start by playing soft music, lighting a few scented candles and adding lavender scented bubble bath. Sometimes I relax my mind and take a light snooze, or catch up on some reading. After my bath I moisturize my skin with a Cocoa and Shea butter lotion and I add a few drops of an essential oil.

Mini Facial

I absolutely love facial masks. Considering the fact that I am thirty-something years of age, proper skin care is essential. I have recently tried moisturizing and cooling peel-off masks. Peel-off masks are quick apply and can be removed just as quickly. I wash my face, apply a light serum and night cream.

Taming the Tresses

I am Naturalista! I have been for the past five years. No more perms or chemicals on this head! LOL.  I am still learning how to tame my tresses and have my hairdo lookin good for work in the morning. The two strand twist out is pretty much my style of choice.  I can double strand twist my hair in less than 20 minutes! I moisturize my scalp with Cantu Conditioner and seal it with pure Coconut Oil, Two strand twist and put on my night cap.  Done!

Outfit Preparation

Mondays are usually the most hectic day of the week, at least for me. Outfit selection is based on weather, mood and of course availability (whatever is clean, lol). I usually go for a power outfit such as a pencil skirt and colorful blouse, or a pin striped suit and killer shoes. My outfit along with shoes, jewelry, hosiery and purse are clearly visible.  Mornings run much smoother when my outfit is prepared the night before.

My Sunday evening routine helps me to tackle the week ahead.  Do you have a routine?  Let me know in the comment section below.
